International Student Orientation

All Mt. SAC international students are required to complete the online F-1 international Student Orientation, available through Canvas. In addition, students will need to participate in our virtual Counseling Orientation and make an appointment for an English Language Assessment interview. Failure to complete the online orientation will delay your ability to make an appointment for your English Language assessment interview and participate in the Orientation Meeting/Registration.  Failure to complete all aspects of Orientation may result in the cancellation of a student’s I-20 Form.

Summer 2024 ORIENTATION SCHEDULE: Please complete step 1, 2, & 3 by as soon as possible in order to register.

STEP 1: COMPLETE YOUR ONLINE F-1 CANVAS ORIENTATION 

You will be emailed a Canvas Course invitation to participate once accepted to Mt. SAC. In the email, click "Get Started" to join.

STEP 2: ASSESSMENT

Please follow the prompt in the Canvas orientation and upload your Assessment Questionnaire results. If needed, a staff member from the American Language department will email placement results to students. 

STEP 3: COUNSELING ORIENTATION

Counseling Orientation is held in Canvas as a module.

STEP 4: REGISTRATION

Please register for classes as soon as possible.
