FCC Test: General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL)
If you are interested in obtaining the FCC license: General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL), you've come to the right place.
Mt. SAC is an authorized test center for administering the FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) through the organization NARTE. (inarte.org)
Mt. SAC offers a test prep course, ELEC76, to help prepare individuals for the test. ELEC76 covers all questions from the test in detail and is a great way to prepare for the test. ELEC76 is currently offered in the Fall semesters only. Successful completion of ELEC76 greatly helps in being able to pass the FCC GROL exams. It is not mandatory to take the class in order to take the exam. Individuals who wish to only take the exam, and not ELEC76, may register through the NARTE website above. The exams can be taken online or at Mt. SAC which is a recognized testing center. See http://inarte.org/fcc-licensing-exams/ Please contact NARTE for eligibility, fees, dates, etc. The GROL is valid for life.
The GROL encompasses Elements 1, 3, and 8. Of these, just Elements 1 and 3 must be passed in order to receive the GROL. NARTE recommends field experience before taking Element 8, which is a radar endorsement.
