About Us
The Tax Research and Practice Program (TR&P) was established in 2015. With support from the AFM/Business Club, Accounting Professor Brenda Domico, and TR&P President Austin Wang, the program was created for the purpose of providing free tax preparation services for the entire community.
During the fall and winter, the TR&P Program leaders will prepare Mt. SAC student volunteers by teaching tax law to the fullest extent, including training and practice with current tax software, providing the practical experience necessary for VITA volunteers.
Beginning in February 2016, the TR&P Program will begin its free VITA services to the public with the help of Mt. SAC students who have passed all VITA requirements and have become certified through the IRS to be official VITA Tax Preparers.
The Mt. SAC VITA team is more than just volunteers, we are a family seeking to grow together to help our community by providing tax services. Our Mission is to provide quality training to our volunteers in order to provide complimentary, accurate and efficient tax preparation services. Our goal is to give back and make an impact on our campus and local community.
