About Rising Scholars
The Rising Scholars Program at Mt San Antonio College fosters a college-completing atmosphere that leads to increased student success by implementing a holistic approach to student development. This holistic approach utilizes an asset-based methodology in a cohort-based model focusing on student strengths to help them succeed and grow. The Rising Scholars Program will assist in reducing the recidivism rate in our region by offering students individualized counseling, career information, community referrals, cultural activities, enrichment workshops, expungement clinics, peer mentoring, and tutoring.
The Rising Scholars Program consists of three educational pathways: High School Diploma/GED Completion Pathway, Career and Technology Pathway (i.e., air conditioning and refrigeration, computer and networking, culinary, welding), and Four-year College Transfer Pathway. Each Scholar will select his or her educational pathway based on their strengths, desires, and educational and career goals.
