Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA)
The Southern California Broadcasters Association is a trade organization that serves
advertising agencies, clients, and the community on behalf of radio broadcasters throughout
Southern California. The SCBA provides market research and information, sales training,
educational programs, community outreach, and EEO employment assistance. Our primary
mission is marketing the power and value of radio as an important part of any communications
strategy that targets Southern Californians. The site is also has an extensive listing
of employment and internship opportunities.
National Radio Hall of Fame & Museum
Recognizes and showcases contemporary talent from today's diverse programming formats,
as well as the pioneers who shaped the medium during its infancy.
American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT)
A national, non-profit organization that extends membership to qualified professionals
in the electronic media and allied fields. AWRT's mission is to advance the impact
of women in the electronic media and allied fields by educating, advocating and acting
as a resource to its members and the industry. Founded in 1951, AWRT has worked to
improve the quality of broadcast programming and the image of women as depicted in
radio, television and cable.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
This is the organization behind the Academy Awards, but also offers such services
and programs to students such as the annual Student Academy Awards and the Nicholl
Fellowships in Screenwriting.
Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA)
The Radio-Television News Directors Association is the world's largest professional
organization devoted exclusively to electronic journalism. RTNDA represents local
and network news executives in broadcasting, cable and other electronic media in more
than 30 countries. RTNDA also gives out yearly scholarships to broadcasting students.

Associated Press Television-Radio Association (APTRA)
APTRA's purposes are to advance radio and television journalism with a eye toward
making available an accurate and impartial record of the news. APTRA offers several
great seminars each year geared toward beginners and also holds several valuable workshops
in conjunction with it's annual awards ceremonies at the Disneyland Hotel. There are
also APTRA scholarships available.
National Association of Broadcasters
The National Association of Broadcasters is a full-service trade association which
represents the interests of free, over-the-air radio and television broadcasters.
The yearly NAB Convention is a valuable place to network and learn more about current
issues. The site also offers a whole host or research material and news about the
industry.
National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF)
To address the need for greater public knowledge and understanding of many issues
related to free, over-the-air broadcasting, the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) was
created to conduct research, education, and other activities related to broadcasting
and its impact on the nation. Mount San Antonio is a member of NABEF, which has yearly
scholarships available to other NABEF schools such as Cal State Northridge and University
of La Verne.
American Federation of Television and Radio Artists
AFTRA represents actors and other professional performers, and broadcasters in television,
radio, sound recordings, non-broadcast/industrial programming and new technologies
such as interactive programming and CD ROMs. AFTRA offers a Mentoring Program available
to broadcasting students and provides a current list of reputable agents and workshops.

LARadio.com is a comprehensive site about the people and business of radio in the
Southern California Broadcasting market. The site includes a "Where Are They Now"
section and current job listings including internships.
The Paley Center
The Paley Center is the place to check out thousands of radio and television broadcasts,
many dating back to the beginnings of the medium. The Paley Center also has a very
active program presenting live radio broadcasts from both the New York and Los Angeles
buildings. Stations of all formats from around the country have hosted from the Center
and visitors are able to attend many of the broadcasts.
