Radio Broadcasting Program
The Mt. SAC Radio Program is dedicated to helping students develop the unique skills needed for successful careers both on-air and behind-the-scenes in radio broadcasting.
Why Choose Mt. SAC?
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCED FACULTY: Our program offers many features and courses not found at any other college or university
in the country. Both full and adjunct professors are all active, working professionals
in the industry and each semester the program welcomes a variety of guest lecturers
from the field.
HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE: The radio classes combine lecture with hands-on training using the same equipment
and software found in major studios and stations. Students have an opportunity to
work on two student-run radio stations. Our studios features such professional level equipment and programs such as Wheatstone
Integrated Boards, ProTools Digital Editing, Audion’s VoxPro, 360 Systems' Instant
Replay and Enco DAD Automation System.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Mt. SAC students are sought after as interns at the top radio and TV stations in
Southern California. Industry professionals often call us looking for internship and
entry-level job candidates, based on their previous satisfaction with the skills and
knowledge of Mt. SAC students.
AWARD WINNING: Mt. SAC students routinely compete with the pros in the annual Radio Television News Association Golden Microphone Awards and the Associated Press Television and Radio Association’s Mark Twain Award competitions and come away winners. The program now proudly boasts over 30 of these honors. Our program and students have also been recognized with numerous awards from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System and College Broadcasters Inc.
