California Nursing Student Association (CNSA)
Mt. SAC chapter
The Mt. SAC Chapter of the California Nursing Student Association is a state component of the National Student Nurses Association and a professional organization for students. Membership in this organization provides for local, regional, state and national dialogue among nursing students via meetings, conferences and conventions. Malpractice insurance and a national magazine are available. The local chapter of CNSA interacts with students in the nursing program, students in the Mt. SAC Student Community Associated Student Body, students involved in CNSA from other nursing programs and students involved in NSNA during attendance at National Conventions.
CNSA member involvement includes, but not limited to:
- Financial Support of Completion Ceremony when class has participated with club in fundraising activities
- Community Service Volunteerism
- Reception for Orientation and Freshmen Students
- Development of leadership skills
- Communication with AFNS
- Communication with other nursing students in California Chapters
Student Class Representatives (SCR)
Student Class Representatives utilize a formal mechanism by which students give input and receive feedback from the nursing program. The SCR consists of elected student class representatives and designated faculty members who meet weekly, prior to committee meetings. The representatives are invited to attend all committee meetings WITH THE EXCEPTION of the Admissions Committee .
