Music Department
The Mt. SAC Music Department offers outstanding opportunities in instruction, performance, and academic preparation in a first-class environment where students can thrive. Its diverse music curriculum, which includes an Associate in Arts with an emphasis in Music, spans the entire musical spectrum, including history, theory, literature, voice, conducting, instrumental, jazz, improvisation, guitar, and piano. Our professors are accomplished musicians, educators, and authors, who offer their students exceptional group instruction, as well as private coaching, to bring out their best potential.
Ensembles
The Instrumental Music Program offers a variety of performing opportunities for all students. No matter their major, skill level, or instrument, we have an ensemble that is right for everyone. The Choral Music Program offers a variety of performing opportunities for all students. No matter their major, skill level, or instrument, we have a choir that is right for everyone.
Facilities
The Music Department is housed in the state-of-the-art Mt. SAC Performing Arts Complex, Building 2, which is composed of classrooms, rehearsal halls, offices, dance studios, the Studio Theatre, as well as the 415-seat Sophia B. Clarke Theatre and the 273-seat Music Recital Hall.
