Career Center
Career Services provide employment assistance and opportunities to Mt. SAC student and alumni. To accomplish this, they partner directly with local employers and help them find qualified candidates. They also offer a variety of services to assist Mt. SAC students and alumni including but not limited to exploring careers, acquiring employment skills, gaining experience, and gaining employment.

Shower Access
In accordance with AB 1995, shower access is provided for current Mt. SAC students. Showers are located in the Exercise Science/Welleness Center, Building 720 M-F from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please bring your own towel and toiletries.
Feminine Hygiene Products
The Basic Needs Resources Center (9C), The Mountie Fresh Food Pantry (67A-103), Health Center (67B), and Health Center Satellite (9E), distribute free feminine hygiene products for students in need.

Resources and Services for Students in Response to COVID-19Behavior and Wellness Team
The Behavior & Wellness Team (B&WT) is a multidisciplinary campus team that guides the campus community in effectively assessing and addressing concerning and/or threatening behavior. The B&WT aims to assist students who may be experiencing an emotional problem or before their behavior reaches a potentially dangerous level. The team does not respond to emergency or crisis situations. For emergency that require an immediate response, call the Department of Police and Campus Safety at 909-274-4555 or 911.

Bus Pass Program
All students who are taking Mt. SAC college credit classes and have paid their student fees are entitled to a free Class Pass from Foothill Transit. The cost for the bus pass is included in your college fees, so all you have to do is pick yours up at the bookstore today.
The Class Pass is a reusable card that gives students unlimited access to Foothill Transit buses, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students who attend in the Fall can use their Class Pass during the Winter intersession, and students who attend in the Spring can use their Class Pass during the Summer intersession.

Priority Registration
Mt. SAC supports parenting students, in accordance with the Education Code, by offering priority registration for students who are parents. This program includes all students who have a child or children under the age of 18 who will receive more than half of their support from that student.
To gain access to priority registration visit your student portal, click the “Request for Priority Registration-Student Parent” link under the Admissions & Records Forms box in the Student tab and complete the form.

Lactation and Breastfeeding Stations
Mt. SAC is committed to serving students who need to express milk on campus durgn hours of operation. Mt. SAC provides lactation rooms and suites in close proximity to classrooms and work spaces, and adequate break time for students to express milk. Learn more about the Lactation room locations...
EOPS/CARE/NextUp
Utilizing a student-centered approach, Mt. SAC’s EOPS/CARE program provides over and above personalized ongoing comprehensive support services to historically underrepresented and low-socioeconomic students in order to increase their sense of belonging, self-efficacy and awareness of opportunities to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
As a comprehensive state-funded program, EOPS is driven by a philosophy of providing “over, above and in addition to” services to eligible Mt. SAC students.
CARE is a supplemental component of EOPS that specifically assists EOPS students who are single heads of welfare households with young children, by offering supportive services so they are able to acquire the education, training and marketable skills needed to transition from welfare-dependency to employment and eventual self-sufficiency for their families. Every CARE student is an EOPS student who must meet the eligibility criteria for both programs.

CalWORKS Program
CalWORKS is the acronym for California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids. All Community Colleges in CA have a CalWORKS Program on campus. CalWORKS provides educational support to Mt. SAC student-parents who are receiving cash aid.

If eligible you will be contacted to select a pick-up appointment. You will be updated via email or phone. Note: Equipment supplies are limited and are not guaranteed. While you are waiting for verification and appointment instructions, please visit the Learning Lab for immediate access to computer usage in Building 6.
Laptops and hotspots will be available to any Mt. SAC student who is enrolled in at least one course. Loans are only available for the term/semester in which you are currently enrolled. If you are not enrolled, you will need to return your equipment to the library.
Laptops and hotspots are in limited supply, we will distribute on a first-come first-served basis.

Pacific Clinics Hope Drop-In Center
Pacific Clinic's Hope Drop-In Center is a safe place for teens and young adults (ages 16-25) who are looking for support, healing and care. They provide immediate help and programs (such as free lunch, clothing, showers, laundry facilities, employment support, recreational area and computer center). They are open 7 days a week and transportation is available to and from the center.

During COVID-19, changes have occurred to the mobile shower locations in Los Angeles County. Currently there are 18 mobile shower locations in LA County. Below is the information for two sites closest to our Mt. SAC campus:
1. The Shower of Hope: 750 S. Santa Anita Ave. , South El Monte 91733. Showers every Tuesday from 10am to 4pm.
2. The Shower of Hope: 3089 E. Huntington Dr., Irwindale 91706. Showers every Tuesday from 8:30am to 1:30pm.

Sowing Seeds for Life
Sowing Seeds for Life (SSFL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in 2005 whose mission is to eliminate hunger. SSFL is a part of America’s Second Harvest whose mission is “feeding America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engaging our country in the fight to end hunger in our local communities."

The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law offers free legal assistance in family law and domestic violence to low-income students experiencing problems with domestic violence and otehr family matters like custody of children, getting a divorce, or establishing paternity.

Laundry Love Project, Pomona

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Free Tax preparation services. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) was established in 2015. With support from the AFM/Business Club, Accounting Professor Brenda Domico, and TR&P President Austin Wang, the program was created for the purpose of providing free tax preparation services for the entire Mt. SAC community.

The California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC)
The California Earned Income Tax Credit, commonly known as the CalEITC, is a refundable tax credit that provides economic support to Californians with low incomes and helps individuals and families pay for basic needs like housing, food, and other necessities. The Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC)
The Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC) provides a credit up $1,083 per tax return for Californians who qualify for CalEITC and have a child under 6 years old. See link below for more information about qualifying and how to claim this credit.
