Young actors will get plenty of stage time while they participate in a variety of acting exercises, improvisation, and scene work in this course. Techniques are taught in a fun, fast-paced environment, with lots of opportunities to develop acting and improvisation skills, imagination, creativity, and self-confidence. This exciting workshop will culminate with an in-class demonstration where kids can share their experience with family and friends. All levels are welcomed, advanced students will benefit from further skill development and will be given more challenging opportunities. This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking, and Personal, Social, Civic, and Environmental Responsibility Institutional Level Outcomes (ILOs).
Upon completion students will:
- Develop and utilize acting techniques and skills in preparation for performing a character
- Demonstrate basic skills in improvisation and performing a character
- Develop increased stage presence, creativity, and self-confidence
