You can apply at any time. However, your application will be pending until you meet
with a counselor to obtain an online Academic Preparation Checklist for the Respiratory
Therapy program verifying that you have completed all the prerequisites.
Students are accepted to the program on a first come first serve basis based on the
checklist date created by a counselor verifying that all the prerequisites have been
met.
• ANAT 10A Introductory Human Anatomy or ANAT 35 Human Anatomy • ANAT 10B Introductory Human Physiology or ANAT 36 Human Physiology • CHEM 10 Chemistry for Allied Health or CHEM 40 Introduction to General Chemistry • MATH 51 Elementary Algebra • MEDI 90 Medical Terminology
An interest letter will be emailed to all applicants in March. Please follow the
instructions in that email to confirm your continued interest in the program and to
maintain your spot on the applicant list. We will update the list and send an email
with your admission status (provisional admit, alternate, deferral) in April. Official
admission into the Respiratory Therapy program is based on the checklist date AND
your attendance at the mandatory orientation in May.
If you are doing very well in class, the damage from missing class may still be manageable.
If you are not doing well in class, the damage from missing class will be unmanageable.
We do not recommend missing class in any case.
Students must fill out the certificate application form that can be obtained from
the Tech & Health Division Office and submit it to the Admissions and Records Office.
Students wishing to add a full class may list their name on the waitlist for the course,
attend the first day of class and ask the instructor if they have room for you to
add.
