Fire Tech Club


All Fire Technology students are invited to become members of the Fire Tech Club. Club activities provide hands-on demonstrations that will further students' knowledge regarding the fire service. Throughout the semester club members will learn to use equipment such as turnouts, hoses, tools, ropes, extinguishers, etc. Guest speakers, who are professionals in the fire service, will be invited to share their experience and answer questions members may have regarding this exciting career. All members are encourage to volunteer to serve at public events.

      1. To teach uniformity, camaraderie, responsibility and accountability.

      2. To gain more knowledge about the fire service.

      3. To teach the value of community service.

      Membership Fee (per semester): $5.00

    • Meetings

      Public Safety Club will meet every Tuesday in building 28B room 210 from 2:50pm-3:50pm for Fall and Spring semesters. Bring a note pad and pen if you wish to take notes. Please come with questions and new ideas for future meetings.

      NOTE: Uniform dress is required for the meetings.

    • Volunteer Hours
      Every member can earn a community service certificate by completing a minimum of 15 hours of community service signed by Chief Mosack. All hours will be logged throughout the semester. Club members can check their status anytime by contacting the Public Fire Tech Club President. Events that enable club members to earn volunteer hours will be offered throughout the semester. However, students may complete their volunteer hours elsewhere as long as it is approved by Chief Genovese or Chief Valdez. Fire competition events such as musters, MCI drills, Mt. SAC events, and high school career days are ways to receive volunteer hours.
