- How can I get credit for a Mt. SAC course if I took a similar course at another college?Fill out a variance form that can be obtained from the Arts Division Office and have it signed by the Department Chair and Division Dean.
- How do I get a Mt. SAC certificate once I have completed the certificate requirements?Students must fill out the application form that can be obtained from the Arts Division Office and submit it to the Admissions and Records Office.
- If a class is full and I want to add the class, what do I do?Students interested in adding a full class may list their name on the waitlist for the course, attend the first day of class and ask the instructor if they have room for you to add.
- If I want to complain about a teacher, what do I do?Contact the Department Chair of that instructor and arrange a meeting.
- Why do I have a restriction from registering? If a hold is placed on your account, you can view details regarding the hold by viewing the Student Self-Service option #15 through the portal. If you need further information on where the hold is originating from, please contact the Admissions and Records Department by phone at (909) 274-4415, or meet with a Student Services representative in the Student Services Building (located in 9 B on the first floor).
- How do I remove a restriction so I can register?A GPA lower than 2.0, past due fees, and rented or borrowed equipment which has not been returned are some of the common reasons for restrictions to be imposed. Contact the Admissions and Records Department by phone at (909) 274-4415 or meet with a Student Services representative in the Student Services Building (located in 9 B on the first floor) to identify the restriction, hold, or obligation. Then contact the Arts Division at (909) 274-4135 to see if there is anything you can do to remove the restriction.

How do I challenge a prerequisite and/or corequisite for a class in the Arts Division?
A Petition to Challenge Course Prerequisite/Corequisites Form must be completed AND an unofficial transcript(s), course catalog description, course syllabus, and/or sample work from course must be attached to be considered for review. For basic or beginning level courses, the form (and the supporting documents) can be submitted to the Arts Division Office for review and processing. For advanced or complex level courses, please submit the form to the department chair (and/or the professor assigned to the specific class) for approval, prior to submission to the Arts Division Office for processing. How do I transfer a course(s) taken at another college to be used towards a degree
and/or certificate under the Arts Division?
A Request for Variance or Credit for Equivalent Course Form must be completed and an unofficial transcript(s), course catalog description, course syllabus, and/or sample work from course must be attached to the form to be considered for review. The completed form and additional documents are then submitted to the department chair (overseeing the program requested) for approval/denial. How do I get more detailed information on a class in the Arts Division?
For detailed information regarding a specific section (or CRN) of a class (i.e., syllabus, assignments, field trips), please contact the professor assigned to that section (or CRN). For general information regarding a particular program and/or course description, please contact the department chair.
