Students will acquire the foundational knowledge necessary to pursue post-secondary degrees in sociology and a variety of specializations in the field. The Associate in Arts in Sociology for Transfer degree is designed to assist students in seamlessly transferring to a CSU major in Sociology.

I like Sociology because your major doesn't define your career. You don't have to go for a vocation, you could go for the education – and that leads to so much more with each level that you do.

I fell in love with the discipline after taking my first Sociology course, which was social inequality with Dr. Michael Perez at CSUF. Majoring in Sociology has changed my life for the better. Education is transformative and my chosen academic journey and career path allows me to share my sociological knowledge with students. That is why I am passionate about teaching Sociology.
