Mt. SAC H.S.I. Status
- The first Title V grant started in 2000 at Mt. SAC. As a college, we are required to apply annually to maintain that designation, as it is a combination of not just Hispanic student enrollment of at least 25%, but also a student requirement of at least 50% low-income. Mt. SAC is a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) at 90% and currently has a continuing credit student population of 63% (as of Summer, 2024), making it a Predominantly Latinx/e Serving Institution (PLSI).
- While the College’s first Title V grant started in 2000, we had previously held at least one Title III grant focused on the Assessment of Written English. While Title III grants are not specific to HSIs, they do have the same low-income student requirement.
