Equity Definitions
- Mt. SAC's BP 3410 Prohibition of Ulawful Discrimination
- Accessibility: The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), protects people with disabilities from
discrimination. Disability rights are civil rights. See website.
Equityrefers to the fair and respectful treatment of all people.
Equity Fluent Leadership: Individuals who understand the value of different lived experiences and courageously use their power to address barriers, increase access, and drive change for positive impact.
Valuing diversity means that we recognize and respect everyone's unique qualities and attributes.
Inclusion means that all individuals feel respected, accepted and valued.
Anti-Racism: includes beliefs, actions, movements and policies adopted or developed to oppose racism. In general, anti-racism is intended to promote an egalitarian society in which people do not face discrimination on the basis of their race, however defined.
