About
The Student Leadership & Advisor Awards is an exciting occasion when friends, relatives,
and members of the
Mt. SAC staff can honor and pay tribute to the students and advisors for their contributions
to the Mt. SAC community. The following groups are recognized: LEAD Certificate Recipients, LEAD Presenters, Legacy Leaders, Associated Students Officers, Collegewide Committee Members, RSCO Officers, RSCO Advisors, and RSCO of the year.
LEAD Certificate Recipients
The Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Program is a non-credit certificate program dedicated to developing students to become effective leaders. Recipients receive a co-curricular leadership certificate upon completion of required workshops in Personal and/or Organizational Leadership.
LEAD Presenters
LEAD Presenters are College employees who are passionate about cultivating the next generation of leaders.
Legacy Leaders
The Mt. SAC Legacy Leaders Program is a monthly program dedicated to honoring students who have made a significant impact on their community by demonstrating exemplary leadership skills, such as responsibility, inclusion, advocacy, and engagement.
Associated Students Officers
Associated Students (A.S.) is recognized as the official student voice on all College issues. They serve to promote and protect the diverse needs of the student population, enhance the awareness of student concerns, and foster leadership and involvement in the campus community. A.S. consists of three branches of government: Executive Board, Senate, and Student Court.
College-wide Committee Members
Committee members are Mt. SAC students who represent the student body on varying issues related to student services, budget, or academics at the College. They assist in developing policies and addressing concerns from a student perspective.
RSCO Officers
Recognized Student Clubs and Organizations (RSCO) Officers ensure that meetings run smoothly, events are planned and executed, and that the RSCO is an active organization on campus.
RSCO Advisors
RSCO Advisors are College employees who give their time and energy to support members, meetings, and events sponsored by the groups they advise.
RSCO of the Year
There are many opportunities for RSCOs to participate on campus and in the community. Active participation in RSCOs promotes leadership development, networking opportunities and learning how to work more effectively as a team. The RSCO of the Year will receive a monetary award in the amount of $1,000. The runner-up RSCO will receive $400.
