Dr. Denise Bailey, Dean

 

          Dr. Denise Bailey started her community college teaching career as an adjunct Chemistry professor at Mt. SAC and other various Southern California colleges almost 15 years ago.  She served students as a full-time professor for over a decade, including seven years as a Department Chair, before stepping into administration as a Dean and Athletics Director.  Denise has participated in almost every college governance committee, including Academic Senate, Honors, Enrollment Management, and the Human Resource Committee.  She has extensive curriculum experience as a previous statewide C-ID primary reviewer and accreditation experience on both internal and external review committees.  Denise prides herself on diversification and community involvement, as she is on the board of a dual enrollment high school and volunteers her time in the community and youth sports.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.  She is excited to bring her experience and expertise in her return to her beginnings at Mt. SAC in the role of Dean of Natural Sciences.
