eDiscovery Certificate

As a nationally-ranked community college, Mt. SAC offers students the full college experience without the full college debt. The certificate is designed for paralegals and other professionals interested in gaining employment in the emerging fields of litigation support and electronic discovery Litigation support. Professionals help identify, preserve, collect, produce, and manage electronically stored information (ESI) in modern litigation.
*Please note: The Mt. SAC Paralegal/Legal Assistant Associate in Science Degree program is approved by the ABA and is the only Mt. SAC program approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). The eDiscovery and Litigation Support Certificate is a separate and distinct certificate which does not prepare students for a career as a paralegal and is not approved by the ABA nor is it an approved program option of the Paralegal Degree.
A paralegal shall perform work under the direction and supervision of an active member of the State Bar of California or other entity authorized under California law. A paralegal may not provide legal advice or engage in conduct that constitutes the unauthorized practice of law. (Business & Professions Code ยงยง 6450, 6451).
Quality Coursework
Mt. San Antonio College is ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 7 in the nation among the Best Vocational and Trade Colleges by Real Work Magazine. The college's eDiscovery certificate is only 12 units (4 courses). Courses focus on how such technology is rapidly changing the legal field and provide practical skills in popular eDiscovery platforms and databases. Students can take classes online or in person. Entry-level job opportunities available after completion of this program may include
paralegals and legal assistants, court reporters, legal secretaries, title examiners,
abstractors, and searchers.
The average starting salary of a paralegal in the area is $57,000. Students who go
on to earn an associate degree better position themselves for career advancement promotions

Affordable Cost
Many students think they can't afford college, but we make college a possibility for everyone. At just $46 a unit, Mt. SAC is 1/5 the cost of CSU schools, 1/10 the cost of UC schools, and 1/30 the cost of private universities. Classes are highly affordable at just $46 a unit.
