Slides: 5 Tools that Will Make You an Accessibility Champ session
What makes a course and its elements “accessible”? How do you meet criteria for accessibility on your website pages and in your documents? Come to this session with your technology partners in teaching (IT and FCLT-Faculty Center for Learning Technology) and learn about the big ticket items for accessibility. Find out about the tools and services that you can use to implement and verify accessibility more easily so you can be a champion for accessibility on our campus.
Tools and services covered in this session will include:
- accessibility features in Canvas that increase access for students
- captioning services that are new and free for all Mt. SAC faculty
- resources for faculty in Canvas and on the Mt. SAC website that offer guidance on all things accessibility
- demos that show tools for easy accessibility checking in your courses, web pages, and documents
Outcomes:
- Faculty will be able to find accessibility tools in Canvas and on the Mt. SAC website
- Faculty will be able to request captioning for videos
- Faculty will be able to identify the key checkpoints to meet accessibility standards
